I always wanted to change my hair color into blonde or near-to-blonde colors. I am bored with just a black hair; colored hairs are fun and unique, #millineal. Way back when I was in my nursing college years, we are not allowed to dye our hair from the time we started OJTs. This is because we have to look as simple as possible to avoid getting attention from patients but now that I got the chance to do what I want with my hair, I looked for something cheap and easy way to color my hair.
So before I say ba-bye to my long hair, here’s my part on trying out a cheap drugstore hair dye for only Php 299. If you would go in a salon, it will cost you like 500 or even more.
Items inside the kit and to prepare.
Make sure to follow the precautions.
APPLICATION PROCESS (Experienced-base)
Step 1: According to the instruction, wear the gloves first, but I suggest you mix the solution first. Wearing gloves caused me limited movements hence, squeezing and mixing the solution is difficult. So what I did is I squeezed the color cream (pink) into the Hydrogen Peroxide (white) bottle then did step 2 and 3 before putting the gloves.
Step 2: Once you put everything inside the bottle, you can now shake it well 30 to 60 times. (Shake it as shown in the video).
Note: Before applying, make an allergy test.
Step 3: Portion your hair according to your desired number and hair length. (Example: Part it to left and right then separate to three each sides) You can start from your nape area up to the top of your head (which I did) or vice versa.
Step 4: This time, you can wear the gloves.Squeeze the mixed color from the fine-tip bottle on your hair. Use your finger to spread the solution thoroughly. Leave it for 30 to 40 minutes but if you want stronger color, you can leave it more than that. Mine is for 1 hour.
Step 5. Now, rinse it with water then with Keratin Repair Mask.
It was not yet visible right after I applied but on the next morning, it looked like this.
Searching for a home remedy to reduce my stretch marks, I gladly found one which I think is easy to make; a combination of aloe vera, Vitamin A and Vitamin E. But I had a hard time finding an aloe vera extract, essence or gel.
Then I came across this online shop that vloggers and bloggers love, found and grabbed one immediately. It’s not 92 nor 99 but it’s 100% and it’s cheaper than the other shop I know, only Php 350.
I love the product, it smells really good for a 100% aloe vera gel (some aloe vera products are stinky) and it does a lot of things. But there is just one thing I find disturbing, its container. It’s more prone to bacterial growth since it has a direct contact with our hands so I’d prefer a pump or a squeeze bottle for this product.
CLAIM TO FAME: A hydrating aloe vera gel that soothes and heals skin
FAST FACTS: Nourishes and calms with 100 percent pure aloe vera and Coenzyme Q10 essence; helps reduce skin inflammation with auxin and gibberellins; helps stimulate the growth of new cells; allows the skin to heal quickly and naturally with minimal scarring
Here are few of many uses of aloe vera which I did with my Esfolio Aloe Vera Soothing Gel
1. As a facial moisturizer
After I take a bath, I apply it on my face as an initial moisturizer before I put a moisturizer cream. It makes me feel refreshed and gives my skin a glowing appearance. It soothes, hydrates, and nourishes my skin. The auxin and gibberellins are plant hormones found within an aloe vera. They aid in wound healing , anti-inflammation and forming new cells that can get rid of your pimples and other facial skin problems.
2. As a hair conditioner
We all know that aloe vera has been a very good hair-friend to us and we inherited it from our grandmothers. With no added chemicals (that sticky extract directly from the plant itself), they use it to let their hairs grow faster and a secret to their glossy, natural and black hair which has been passed from generation to generation.
3. As a hair gel for kids
My husband’s hair gel wouldn’t be a good match to my toddler’s young hair since it contains chemicals that could ruin the natural oil and appearance of my son’s hair. So having an aloe vera gel as an alternative is a perfect fit plus it has conditioning effect that makes his hair more nouriched.
4. As a soothing gel for insect bites
Since it has a cooling effect, I use it for my son’s insect bites and I’m glad it stops him from scratching. Another good thing is that it reduces skin inflammation and helps in cell regeneration from the crust formed when it becomes a wound.
5. As a stretch marks remover
Since it has a coenzyme Q10 essence which helps in skin tightening, I also use it for my tiger stripes or the so-called stretch marks. Added with Vitamin E, it will really help me minimize (for now) my strecth marks and hopefully, get rid of them permanently.
I’m just a low-maintenance girl. I guess because of two things; first, 10 to 20 steps of skin routine is a waste of time and second, it takes too much money. Maybe if I got more than enough of these two, I’d be the opposite in the future. But for now, as a full-time mother, I like things that simplify life and maximize time.
I’m lazy doing facial skin care routines but I have to do it because again of two things; first is I’m married so looking good is a must (hope you get what I mean, Haha) and second is I’m getting old so having a really skin is one of my priorities. I love stuffs with multifunctional purposes so a 4-in-1 skin essential will give me a lot of time to save. Discovering Maybelline Micellar Water is such a blessing; make up cleaner, cleanser, toner and moisturizer.
What is micellar water?
“The idea is that micelles are attracted to dirt and oil, so they are able to draw out impurities without drying out the skin. The idea is that micelles are attracted to dirt and oil, so they are able to draw out impurities without drying out the skin”
CLAIM TO FAME: 4-in-1 miracle water removes makeup, cleanses, tones, and moisturizes in one step
FAST FACTS: Water-based formula removes light makeup including BB cream; cleanses, tones, and moisturizes skin; soothes and hydrates as it removes all traces of oil, dirt, and other impurities; fragrance-free, alcohol-free, and oil-free for no-sting cleansing
PERFECT FOR: All skin types, including oily and aging skin
I have nothing to say on the bad side, all are good. Cheap, doesn’t sting, all in one, smoothens skin, and it really takes away inks on my face and even dirts that I missed after cleansing my face with tap water. Good job micellar water ^_^

Mothers are the best photographers, I mean, best in keeping memories through photographs. But either way, we are multitaskers. And as master shoppers too, we find the cheapest deals in town. This means buying stuffs with quality over quantity promos and discounts.
With my son’s first birthday party photos, I just want to keep things organized, not spending too much but not sacrificing the quality. What I did to have that was I paid a professional photographer to take the photos but gave me the soft copies then I take it from there. Paying the hard copies with the photographer would took me more money so seeing Photobook and Metrodeal before the party was a blessing; a deal of Php 20 ONLY instead of Php 1200. Well, it pretty much turned well. Here’s how.

Lazada is one of the well-known online shops here in the Philippines. It became my go-to shop when I became a mother. A convenient way of shopping for a stay-at-home-mom like me. And it continues to open door to new business owners who wants to market their products to many more customers because a lot of people prefer online shopping better than the traditional one.
UNBOXING AND FIRST IMPRESSION
To be a shopper and a blogger for Lazada is like having the best of both worlds. These products that they gave me for review is pretty new to me. And I’m happy to see the prices are affordable.
You can even enjoy an instant Php 100 discount when you use voucher LZD100OFF from codesium.com. They have other 6 codes to use when you shop at Lazada PH. Some of them can also give you price reductions or a chance to win flight tickets. Sounds good, right?
Nobody rejects FREE products! Of course, except for bad ones. But you can never go wrong on this online shop where all (I mean, almost) things are F.R.E.E. Yasss! Why almost? Well, keep reading until end.
WHAT IS SAMPLE ROOM?
I discovered Sample Room through many bloggers and Youtubers. The uniqueness of this shop will allure you to give it a try. Yes, it is a shop where you got to buy free products using points. Order Time: July 14, 2016
Shipping Date: Same as above
Item received: July 20, 2016 (7 days from delivery)
As I initially mentioned that it’s”almost free”, this is due to shipping fee. The products are free but not how you’ll going to received them. But if you are going to calculate the regular price of each product with your fare buying them on groceries, well, it’s pretty much cheaper most especially when selected products are in full sizes. #sulit. Hehe
If you enjoyed shopping at Sample Room but felt bitin, then you can buy points and be a VIP member. Another reason for that “almost free”. 1,000 points = PHP 649
I started loving online shopping when I became a mother. Lots of benefits to offer from no fare going to malls, relax feet, easy to find what you need and free shipping for some stores. Convenience it is without even living your child or carrying your baby while shopping.
Time changes so fast that innovations and improvements has also the reciprocation of threats and harms. So as a first time mommies, what we always want is the best for our babies. Protecting them from these negative changes especially for their health, we look for organics and natural products to use.
Safe and gentle – keywords we use to search for things to give to our little ones that lead me to this brand. Taking advantage of the goodness their products have, I purchased some of their best sellers.
A Flouride-free tooth gel that comes in fun, fruity flavors to help prepare little ones for adult toothpastes! It helps prevent tooth decays and promote healthy gums. Made with xylitol to help protect teeth from cavities and bacteria. Trusted by pediatricians and dentists to build good oral habit.
6 months – 3 years old
low mint and low bubbles
Of course I started with the Tiny Fangs Kiddie Tooth Gel Stage 1 (product 4a.). I did not gave this one until he learned how to spit. Then when I introduced this one to him, he treats his toothbrush as a lollipop! Haha But I have to keep teaching that toothpastes are not to be swallowed. Does what it says but on the cleaning part, you still need to use wet towel to remove stains well.
2. After Bites
A non-mentholated, non-greasy soothing gel carefully formulated with natural ingredients. Specially formulated to instantly soothe itchiness and redness from insect bites. It is free from Paraben, Petroleum, & Artificial Colors. Suitable for use on kids and babies with soft, sensitive skin. Safe to apply on other minor skin irritations like cuts and bruises too. Trusted by Pediatricians.
One of my faves! Although I have to be honest, it smells really awful but the effect defeats it. Whenever my son has insect bites, the itchiness goes away for seconds that’s why I bought 2 of this!
3. Natural Hand Sanitizer Starfish – Sweet Orange
Tiny Buds Natural Hand Sanitizers are made from Fruit Alcohol. They effectively remove bacteria while being non-drying on skin. Sweet and fruity scents are mild on baby’s delicate nose. ( Other scents are Pear Jellyfish and Tutti Frutti Crab)
non-sticky pocket-sized formula
baby’s clean hands are safe to put into mouth after use
can be used to clean toys and surfaces before playtime or feeding time
It smells really good and I’m confident to use it before and even after meals since it is food-safe. I even use it too.
4. Sampler Kit
4a. Tiny Fangs Kiddie Tooth Gel Stage 1
Delicious flouride-free toothgel that kids will love! 100% Food Safe in case swallowed by baby. Made with xylitol to help protect teeth from cavities and bacteria. Trusted by pediatricians and dentists to build good oral habit
for 4 months – 2 years old
no mint, no bubbles
Safe to swallow, no rinsing needed
Perfect partner when I started training my baby for toothbrushing. It tastes good and no worries if he swallows it since it is also food-safe. He loved his toothbrush, haha.
4b. Rice Baby Powder
A premium quality baby powder made from 100% real rice grains. This biodegradable and hypoallergenic baby powder is completely free from harmful talc and other chemicals. It repels water which allows sweat to evaporate naturally and it is also rich in
protein and amino acids. This makes Tiny Buds Rice Baby Powder perfectly unique in keeping baby’s skin healthy, fresh, moisturized and dry from perspiration. Tiny Buds Rice Baby Powder is internationally awarded and trusted by Pediatricians.
I was quite impressed with this baby powder. It is really fine, every powder dust is absorbed and it smells really good. The only thing is that it will cost you more compared to othe baby powder but if you got extra bucks, then it will be worth your money.
4c. Laundry Powder for Babies
It is made from natural cleaning agents that keep baby’s clothes free from harsh chemicals. Trusted by Pediatricians.
Safe for Cloth Diapers
Machine & Hand-Wash Safe
Color Safe Formula
Recommended for babies & family members with sensitive skin
Keeps mommy’s hands soft too!
From the rice powder then this one, can’t help to smell the powder itself. It really smells like a sweet garden, perfect for baby clothes. But just like the above product, extra money needed.
4d. Liquid Laundry Wash for Babies
It is lovingly made with Natural Cleaning Agents that are biodegradable and leave no chemical residues. Safe to use on baby’s laundry without irritating delicate skin. It is also recommended to wash the clothes of kids and family members with sensitive skin too!
Compared to the powder, this one is less fragrant. I’d prefer the powder but it still smells good plus it bubbles really well.
4e. Fabric Softener for Babies
Lovingly made with plant-based softeners that leave baby’s clothes, sheets and laundry Soft and Fluffy to the touch.
Soft & Fluffy to the Touch – Mild & Calming Fragrance
With the laundry powder alone, my son’s clothes already smelled good and if you use this one with the detergents, it will boost the scent plus the softness of the fabric.
4f. Baby Bottle and Utensil Wash
A natural cleaner that easily washes leftover milk and food from baby’s bottles, utensils & breastfeeding accessories without using harsh chemical cleansers. Our special food-safe formula is completely water-soluble and leaves no foul odors.
Love at first use. This is the first product I used from Tiny Buds. It is really safe and it cleans just enough for baby utensils. Another good thing is that I can also use it to wash his teethers and my breast pump.
On the shopping part, (straight forward) I don’t recommend shopping on their online shop. Maybe they changed now. But the time when I purchased these products, I was disappointed. Here’s the details:
Date ordered: July 5, 2016
Order paid: July 7, 2016
No payment confirmation so I messaged them on their FB page on July 9, 2016 and I’m glad they are responsive. They replied they’ll going to process my order on July 11 (Monday) because they are unable to serve orders over the weekend. But I paid Thursday(July 7) which is weekday and the day after it is still weekday.
Still waiting for the payment confirmation, I messaged them on the promised date tru email and facebook. No reply on email but they replied on facebook the day after; July 12 (Tuesday). They replied they have delivered the items and expect it within 5 business days for Metro Manila and 10 business days for outside Metro Manila.
Item received: July 14, 2016 (4 days from delivery which is July 11)
Payment confirmation sent tru email: July 15, 2016
I’m fine with waiting process but the lack of automatic information they should provide to buyers is something very important to me especially shopping online. If you will not tap or remind them, nothing will happen or it causes delay.
I’d prefer shopping products on Lazada or SM Department Store but unfortunately, they offer limited products. For example; in Lazada, they are in bundles.
If you want to save or stock up, then this one will be very convenient to you since they are discounted and offers Free Shipping for minimum purchase of 1000, plus it’s faster than Tiny Buds online shop.
In SM Departmant Store, you can buy them on time but they don’t have the Tooth Gels and other laundry products, just chosen products.

MY CHILD’S SUPPLEMENT JOURNEY
The first vitamin supplement that was prescribed for my son when he started eating solids was PediaFortan which is an appetite stimulant. Growing up and learning to walk, next was Nutrilin as his multivitamin supplement. When he reached toddlerhood, his pedia changed it to Ferlin for this age is more on playing than eating. Ferlin has higher iron concentration to prevent him from Iron Deficiency Anemia and most especially, iron is an essential component to produce blood.
My son has exemplary height compared to other toddlers of his age. His height as of the moment is already 100 cm which is higher than typical (87.63 cm) and we wish that he could maintain it as he grows up. So I asked his pedia if I could transition to a height booster supplement after Ferlin and she allowed me to.
Luckily as a coincidence, Wert Philippines sent me Nutri10. It was my first ever encounter with the brand and their products. I am really happy that it has all the components that I need starting from Chlorella Growth Factor which is a height booster and Vitamin C as immunity booster since recently, my son just had cold and cough and a lot more.
If you are sure that your child is getting a healthy and balanced diet everyday, then he may not need it. However, it is hard to give and calculate all vitamins and minerals in a single meal. To give your child a ready-to-swallow minerals or vitamins is a convenience and an insurance of his health and growth.
WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO TAKE MULTIVITAMIN SUPPLEMENT?
After breakfast. There are other best times to take different supplements but with multivitamins such as B complex, Vitamin C and E, they are like fuels for your body so as you start the day, you need to load up and with your breakfast, less chances of stomach upset.
WEIGHT AND HEIGHT
BMI or Body Mass Index is basically an assessment tool to tell if a person is underweight, overweight, obese or within normal or healthy weight-height proportion. It simply evaluates if a person’s weight is proportionate to his or her height.
My child’s BMI is interpreted as OBESE! I am really shocked with these information for all I know is that he looks fine since his height matches his weight “aesthetically”. See him in below image. Does he even look obese? Haha
The girl in the image is his older cousin. You can clearly see their height difference. He is really a “tall toddler”. Recalling the foods he has been eating lately, he loves white rice but less veggies which is very worrisome. But with Nutri10, I’m partially relieved. Why partially? Half is for the trust I gave to Nutri10 and the half is for me as a mother to be more creative in giving him well-balanced diet. A healthy child must be a combination of parent’s effort and world’s innovative products.
I can’t help but compare possible products to buy with same purposes. We all do this as moms, right? The table above would be a big help for you to choose which is the best.
Nutri10 vs Growee
Although they have close to similar contents, the amounts in Nutri10 are higher. Also, Growee doesn’t have Vitamin C and Zinc.
Nutri10 vs Cherifer
This one is somewhat a close competitor in CGF and major vitamins but obviously, doesn’t have as much vitamins and minerals as Nutri10 have.
Be the one to decide which brand you’ll get but it is apparent that Nutri10 is like all-in-one multivitamin supplement.
MY SON VERSUS NUTRI10
Toddlers are picky eaters by nature so giving them food to eat even they look good or healthy is a hard process. Also, they have “food neophobia” so when I let him take the supplement, he refused it immediately maybe because of two things: one; it’s new to him or two, it looks like the medicine he drinks whenever he’s sick that taste bitter so he is afraid to give it even a try.
The technique? I mixed it with the juice he is drinking since it is also in Ponkan Flavor, he didn’t notice that he already drank the syrup. Now, it is already his 7th day drinking it. Actually, I tried it and it tastes good but tods will be tods, picky and choosy.
I’m just happy that he can enjoy the 9P benefits he can get from Nutri10.
Children are observant in nature. When they act what they see and you reward them (Skinner’s Operant Conditioning), they’ll repeat the action because they know that they are doing a good deed. So whenever they start holding finger foods and feed themselves, appreciate them by saying a simple “Good job baby” with a smiling face.
When to expect my baby to feed himself?
Here are the 4 most important skills your baby needs to develop to prepare him for feeding independence:
This are large movements that involves the use of the big parts of the body like arms and feet. At about 18 months, sitting upright steadily is the most important skill he needs to develop. Also, other gross motor skills like reaching out, controlling body movements to be able to reach out for food will be prominent.
Fine Motor (Pincer grasp)
After the introduction of solid foods at 6 months, our baby starts to hold things using their thumb and index finger that is known as the pincer grasp. Smaller actions using fingers or even tasting and touching (fine motor skills) are being develop between 8-12 months thus finger foods could be prepared for them.
MY CHILD’S MILESTONE
2 months – Hand-eye coordination
3 months – Hand-mouth coordination
6 months -Introduction of solid food
8 months – Sit on his own
10 months – Pincer grasp (finger foods)
11 months – Started holding spoon then eventually fork but still lack of control
18 months – Can eat independently either by hand or by spoon (but STILL MESSY!)
20 months – Plus fork! (Slightly messy) And also, can drink on his own but using plastic wares.
24 months – FULL CONTROL IN EATING AND DRINKING
STAGES (Based on experience and observation)
Don’t get frustated if your child can’t follow the numbers. Every child is unique, just patiently teach them. Remember that consistency is the key. We all go through process and you can also refer to these stages even without the numbers.
Stage 0: Smash Cake
Have you ever watched Funny Baby Videos on Youtube? Some clips are babies ruining cute little cakes with mess all over their face; that’s the “Smash Cake” trend. It is an American tradition which is being adopted by few Filipino families like we did.
When my son turned 1 year old, we did this but not all the visitors appreciated the moment since not everyone is familiar. But for me and my husband, this is his first taste of sweet and also, a “go” signal for him to explore food for independence.
Stage 1: High Chair
It is important for them to learn how to sit upright by using high chair. Also, a good preparation for potty training since sitting is our position for feeding and pooping.
This stage is still an exploration. Start giving them finger foods. Let them know different textures like smooth for bread or rough for puffs. Give them time to improve their fine motor skills also by starting to let them hold spoon and fork (use plastic and with heat indicator). Use the simple command of “scoop-am” (am in Filipino baby talk means eat).
EXPECT A MESSY TABLE! Make sure that every utensil and surface is clean. Disinfect their table every after feeding, sterilize the spoon and fork and pick up every bit of food they drop. Train them about cleanliness little by little starting from their plate. This is by putting all the food in the center of their plate.
Make sure that you show them how to do it then let them do it. Always say VERY GOOD when they did it and SMILE. They’ll love doing the action over and over again until they can do it on their own!
Stage 2: Own Chair
Once you observed that they can sit on their own, buy them their own chair. This is the stage to hone gross motors skills with their arms, legs, torso and feet. Let them get their own chair when it is time to eat and make the level of an adult chair their table (or their own small table).
This is a preparation for them to climb starting from floor level to an adult chair. They can use their small chair to climb in an adult’s chair. In this stage, make sure to polish their fine motor skills; holding and using the spoon and fork well and less mess.
Stage 3: Family Table
FINALLY, a table for two! If your tod is good enough to climb and sit on an adult’s chair, then this is the best thing in self-feeding because you can eat together and share moments together.
Always EAT BESIDE or WITH YOUR KID because they gives them the feeling of security and love. Do not forget to say, JOB WELL DONE! Happy eating ^_^
